Blue Wonder 2013

A German phrase Blaues Wunder, blue wonder, is a metaphor for some sort of surprise, mostly unexpected events which do not make you happy.

In Hanover however, the saying gains a positive notion through the plant called scilla. Scilla grows in masses on the cemetery Lindener Berg and it blooms a carpet of blue flowers when spring arrives. This year's spring came very late and the traditional celebration of Blaues Wunder had to be postponed for a week later. A spring tradition to recommend to everyone living or visiting Hanover: Scilla-Blütenfest in Linden. Everybody gets to the hill and wanders around chatting and watching flowers grow. Good times. Enjoy!
